Artist's Comments

I got the materials last night and now it's finally finished! I now officially love chalk and charcoal pencils. I need to use them more often. I like how the hair on the right turned out.......

EDIT: I FINALLY found the picture that this was going to be based on before I lost it. And here it is Shadow Play. Now that I've found it I can see how much I deviated. Oh well.

heh, thanks. I really need to work on the blending though. I'm not used to chalk, so it all came out really rough...

That is so beautful and haunting. It has amazing light, and you're right, the hair on the rigth hand side is particularly good.

I can't take credit for the lighting. It's heavily based on a photo called 'Shadow Play'. I don't know who it's by. I've been trying - unsuccessfully so far - to find it so I can give the photographer her due. And when I say "heavily based" I mean it would have been a copy except I lost the original photo and couldn't find it, so I had to do the rest from memory. *sigh* But thanks for the comment

You can take credit for the lighting - I was referring to how well you've recreated it! :D
